Welcome to Create Interior N1: Night at Home, a minimalist design project rendered with Unreal Engine 5.3 and Ray Tracing. This project presents a series of six renders that portray a cosy, comfortable space with a nostalgic touch.
The heart of the space is a grey sofa adorned with vibrant cushions, creating a welcoming atmosphere. A black metal lamp and a lush green plant infuse the space with a sense of freshness and light. Reflective objects on the coffee table and glass elements in the abstract paintings enhance the luminosity of the space, while an elegant chair and a blue fabric blanket add a touch of warmth.
The project leverages the assets from the Archviz Interior Rendering Sample Project and employs a PBR-based material rendering workflow. The lighting, shadows, and reflections are all powered by Ray Tracing, with all lighting being movable rather than static.
This project was inspired by the spaces I have seen in my travels to the United States, and by my motivation to create pleasant spaces for all people, spaces that are simple, familiar, contemporary, and useful, as well as organized and calm. The software I used was Unreal Engine 5.3 and the rendering technique was Ray Tracing. The main challenge I faced was to balance quality and performance on my computer, which runs on a GPU Nvidea RTX 2060.
For this project, I modified the ambient light of the scene to achieve a nocturnal outdoor environment and only illuminated the interior of the scene with a point of light coming from the lamp. It is a warm yellow light that reminds me of my grandparents' house. I wanted to create a contrast between the dark and the bright, and to evoke a feeling of home and nostalgia.
